Second FLOSS Usability Sprint: Extreme Usability, August 22-24, 2005

Aspiration and Blue Oxen Associates hosted "FLOSS Usability Sprint II: Extreme Usability" on August 22-24, 2005 at 1366 Mission in San Francisco, California.    (1)

In addition to our usual process of helping free (libre) / open source projects improve their usability, we explored the notion of "extreme usability", which emerged from the first FLOSS Usability Sprint in February 2005. Making software usable is not something that can happen after the fact. Usability must be a consideration at all stages of the software development process. Extreme usability is a methodology that incorporates usability in a highly iterative and agile development process and that partners usability practitioners with programmers and users as co-designers and co-developers.    (13)

Once again, we had a fantastic event. You can read Eugene Eric Kim's assessment of the event on his blog, and follow the artifacts of the event on our event Wiki.    (D)
