On February 18-20, 2005, Aspiration and Blue Oxen Associates hosted the first ever Free / Libre / Open Source Software (FLOSS) Usability Sprint at J. Fairchild in San Francisco, California. Over 40 open source developers, usability practitioners, project managers, and users gathered to discuss methodologies for improving the usability of Free/Libre/Open Source Software (FLOSS) and to apply those processes towards specific software projects.    (36T)

The event was a great success. We not only improved the participating projects, but also catalyzed a new community interested in open source usability and several new collaborative efforts. Our mailing list continues to be quite active, and our second sprint -- Extreme Usability -- will be August 22-24, 2005.    (36U)
